The President's Message |
|
|
REY MELCHOR F. SANTOS,
M.D., FPCS, MHA
President
Philippine Medical Association |
|
| The currently unfolding healthcare landscape is expected to have a strong effect in the health sector particularly in the field of medicine and the medical profession. In response, therefore, to the rapid changes in information technology and communication, the PMA website was launched during the 101st Annual Convention last May 2008. It was designed to hasten not only the implementation of the programs which we, as an organization, envision to accomplish within the next three to five years but to raise, as well, the level of awareness of physicians on the developments that affect the medical profession.
Through the PMA website we also hope to make our organization more responsive, vibrant , dynamic and responsible by improving our interface with possibly all the stakeholders in healthcare and the public. This is one of the reasons why we do not and should not stop in developing the PMA website in line with our goal of unifying and integrating the medical profession under one strong and cohesive Philippine Medical Association.
I therefore congratulate the Committee on Information Technology and the Committee on Publications for their contributions and in making our website an effective instrument of disseminating valuable information about our association to the general membership.
Maraming Salamat at Mabuhay ang PMA! |

OSCAR D. TINIO, M.D..
Vice President, and
Chairman, IT Committee |
Responsive, responsible and dynamic service. To our members. To our patients. And perhaps to all stakeholders in the Philippine health industry. These we plan to deliver through this web site and through the projects the PMA has lined up as part of the ePMA.
We are now implementing the PMA Membership System (PMAMS) at our PMA Office and through this site out of which we intend to create a service portal. Please visit the Member Services section of this site to see our initial effort to deliver membership services on-demand.
But we do not stop here. This is just the beginning. We will continue to expand our services to include CME, membership payment services and interfacing with government agencies. As we urge you to support us in this undertaking by using these services, we are also open for your suggestions.
Maraming salamat po at mabuhay po kayong lahat. |
